Privacy policy

This page covers what Aster IT collects through this website (https://asterit.net) and what we do with it. It doesn't cover any separate service you use once you're a client — we'll tell you separately about anything specific to that.
What we collect
We only collect what you actively give us:
- Contact and "Book a review" forms. Name, email address and/or phone number, and whatever else you choose to fill in — company name, team size, your current IT setup, which services you're interested in, your timeframe, and your message. This is saved to our database and, where we've set up an alert, emailed to our team so someone can follow it up. We don't pass it to any marketing platform or third party.
- Aster Cloud sign-in. If you try to sign in, we check the email address you enter against our records. We don't currently store anything from a sign-in attempt beyond that check.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. These are the only ones this site sets, and none of them are used for advertising.
- Google Analytics (
_gaand_ga_followed by an ID). Only set if you choose Accept analytics. They show us which pages are visited and how people find the site, as overall totals, so we can improve it. The service is provided by Google, whose privacy policy covers how they handle it. Advertising features are not used. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. - Your cookie choice (
aster_consent). Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, for six months, so we don't ask on every page. - Live chat (
cw_conversation). Only set if you open the chat, so your conversation carries on as you move around the site or come back later. The chat runs on our own server. - Aster Cloud sign in (
asterit_sid). Only set when you sign in, to keep you signed in. Sign in can't work without it.
Fonts
Page text is rendered using Google Fonts, loaded from Google's servers. Loading a font this way exposes your IP address and browser details to Google in the same way any request to a website does — Google's own privacy policy covers what they do with that.
Why we process it
To respond to enquiries, arrange the reviews and callbacks you ask for, and keep a record of who we've spoken to so we don't lose track of it. That's a legitimate business interest in following up on someone who's asked us to.
Who sees it
Our team, and whichever email or hosting provider we use to run this site and send that internal alert. We don't sell or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
For as long as it's useful to us as a record of the enquiry, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first.

Ask us what we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, any time — email hello@asterit.co.uk and we'll sort it out.
